Is the Bible full of contradictions? Are those supposed contradictions really contradictions or rather are they paradoxes of speech and literature; "seemingly absurd or self-contradictory statement[s] or proposition[s] that when investigated or explained may prove to be well founded or true." In a sermon entitled "The Way Up Is Down", Pastor Don Modglin reads an excerpt from Mark 10 where we find one of the Bible's great difficulties. Jesus gives us many paradoxes to consider; the way to live is to die, the way to be great is to serve, and the way to be first is to be last. Jesus effectually not only turned the world upside down but even or thoughts, values and beliefs. Listen in as Pastor Don turns our hearts to the Lord and in turn the Lord turns our hearts inside out.
